ViralEbooks and its apps

ViralEbooks (“we”, “us”) is run by ViralEbooks. It is a home for digital e-book experiences. These terms cover viralebooks.com and its available apps. Occasions is the current group occasion-book pilot, supporting birthday books made from contributed messages and photos. Future apps, features and shared umbrella login are planned, not promised as currently available. Product-specific terms and prices will be shown before you use or buy a new product.

By signing in, contributing or otherwise using the website or an app, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

Who can use it

You must be at least 18 years old to sign in as an owner or to contribute. If you are under 18, please do not use the service; a parent or guardian can use it instead.

Current product and prices

In Occasions, the owner invites contributors, previews the book, freezes it and downloads a generated PDF. The watermarked PDF is free. The planned Clean upgrade is US$2.99 once per book for watermark removal. Paid checkout is not yet available. Each product’s payable amount, currency and applicable taxes will be shown before purchase. The current Occasions pilot has no subscription or extended-storage upgrade.

Your content and your responsibility

“Your content” means anything you submit, such as names, messages, relationships and photos. You are solely responsible for your content and for everything you do on the service, including what you write, which photos you upload and who you share links and PDFs with.

You promise that you own your content or have permission to use it, and that you have the permission of the people who appear in a photo or are named in a message, as far as the law requires. You promise that your content is not unlawful, abusive, harassing, hateful, sexually explicit, violent, defamatory, misleading, infringing or harmful to anyone. Sexual content involving minors, or content that sexualises or endangers a child, is strictly prohibited and we report it to the authorities. You also promise not to upload viruses, to try to break, overload, probe or bypass the service, to scrape it, or to use it to send spam.

You keep your rights in your content. You give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, process, display and reproduce it only as needed to run the service: to show it to the owner, include it in the book and PDF, and deliver it. In Occasions, contributing permits inclusion of your message and photo in the book delivered to its owner. The owner chooses what appears and how to distribute the PDF.

We do not review or endorse user content

Content is created by users, not by us. We do not review content before it appears, we do not check it for accuracy, legality or rights, and we do not endorse it. We are not responsible for content that users submit, for what owners choose to include or share, or for anyone’s reliance on it. Any opinion in user content is the opinion of the person who wrote it.

Moderation, removal and ending access

We may, at our discretion and without notice where needed, hide or remove any content, remove or lock a book, refuse or suspend access, and end an account or link, if we believe these terms or the law are being broken, if we receive a valid complaint, or to protect people or the service. Owners can hide or remove entries in their own book. We are not obliged to monitor the service, and not removing something does not mean we approve it.

Reporting content and takedown

To report content that you believe is unlawful, abusive, infringing or violates your rights, or to ask for removal, email hello@viralebooks.com with the subject “Report”, the book ID if you have it, a description of the content, and who you are. Owners can also use the Report button on an entry in their book. We aim to acknowledge reports within 72 hours and to act on valid reports within 15 days. We may remove content first and ask questions afterwards, and we may share information with authorities where the law requires it.

Access and security

Keep sign-in and private access links secure. Current Occasions owners sign in by email link; contributors use an invitation link without needing an account. Anyone with an invitation link can add content to that book, so share it only with people you trust. You are responsible for activity through your account and links. Tell us at hello@viralebooks.com if you think they were misused. Future apps may have different access requirements described in those apps. Paid features, when enabled, require a verified successful payment.

Occasions freezing and expiry

Preview before freezing. Freezing locks contributions and starts seven days of book storage; the book cannot be reopened for edits in this pilot. Download before the expiry shown in the app. Expired downloads are blocked and hourly cleanup removes stored book content and PDFs. You may keep previously downloaded PDFs. Other apps will state their own storage and delivery terms.

Digital delivery and support

Current Occasions delivery is a PDF download, not physical shipping. Rendering can be delayed or fail. Contact hello@viralebooks.com with the app name and book ID for help. See the Digital Delivery and Cancellation/Refund policies.

Service provided as is

The service is a pilot and is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no promises or warranties, express or implied, about availability, accuracy or fitness for a purpose, or that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free or free of harmful content, or that a PDF will always render or look a particular way. Please keep your own copies of photos and text that matter to you.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for loss of data, profits, goodwill or reputation, or for anything arising from user content, from what other people do, or from events outside our control, including failures of hosting, email or payment providers. Our total liability to you for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us for the book in question in the 12 months before the claim, or INR 500 if you paid nothing. These terms do not limit rights or liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.

Indemnity

You agree to cover and defend us against claims, losses and costs (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your content, your breach of these terms, or your misuse of the service, including claims by people who appear in or are named in your content.

Changes and ending

We may change these terms or the service. We will post the new version with its date and, for significant changes, say so in the app. Continued use after a change means you accept it. You can stop using the service at any time. We can suspend or end the service or your access as described above. Parts that by nature continue (content rights already granted for delivered books, disclaimers, liability limits, indemnity and governing law) continue after use ends.

Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of India. The courts at Mumbai, Maharashtra have exclusive jurisdiction, subject to any consumer rights you have by law. Please contact us first at hello@viralebooks.com so we can try to fix the problem informally.
