Privacy Policy

Scope
This policy covers the ViralEbooks website and its apps, including the current Occasions pilot. Each app may have additional product-specific notices explaining its data use and storage. New features and apps will be described when they become available; this policy does not imply that shared umbrella login or future apps are already live.
Website updates and contact
If you join the launch-update list on viralebooks.com, we collect your email to send ViralEbooks updates. The signup form is processed through Netlify. You can ask us to stop those updates by emailing hello@viralebooks.com. We also process information you send when contacting support.
Current Occasions data
For the current birthday-book pilot, we collect the owner’s sign-in email, book details and note to contributors. Contributors provide their name, optional relationship, message and optional photo. We keep records needed for sign-in, contribution editing, book status, rendering, downloads and security. We also record that you agreed to our Terms and Privacy Policy: the version of the terms and the time (for owners, linked to the sign-in email in hashed form; for contributors, stored with the entry). We do not store your IP address for this.
Use and access
We use information to run the website and apps, provide requested updates, create and deliver books, keep the service secure and respond to support. Occasions owners can see and manage contributions. A secret invitation link opens its contribution form; keep that link private. Contributor instructions are displayed on the form, not in the PDF. People who receive a downloaded PDF can keep or share it independently of ViralEbooks. When content is reported, we may look at the reported content and the book it belongs to in order to decide whether to remove it, and we may share information with authorities where the law requires it or to protect people.
Providers and cookies
Netlify hosts the umbrella website and processes its signup form. The Occasions pilot uses Supabase for sign-in and database storage, Resend for sign-in emails, and Cloudflare for hosting, private file storage and rendering. Providers may process information outside your country. If we add another provider that handles your content, such as an automated image-safety check, we will name it here. Essential app cookies maintain sign-in and contribution editing. We record basic service events and troubleshooting/security logs. We apply per-address limits and other safeguards to the sign-in and contribution forms to prevent abuse. When payments are enabled, the chosen payment provider processes payment details under its own privacy policy.
Retention
Storage periods depend on the app and are explained in that app. In the current Occasions pilot, seven days of book storage starts at finalizing and freezing. Downloads stop at expiry; hourly cleanup deletes the stored messages, photos, snapshots and PDFs. Collecting books remain available before freezing. This book-content deadline does not apply to sign-in accounts, launch-update subscriptions, support correspondence, service logs, records of agreement to our terms (kept for 3 years) or payment records. Downloaded files cannot be recalled or deleted by us.
Your choices
Occasions contributors can edit or delete their own entry from the same browser before freezing. Contact hello@viralebooks.com for privacy questions, access, correction, deletion or withdrawal requests. You must be 18 or older to use the service. Do not submit sensitive personal information or another person’s photo without permission.
